Sukajan Makie (Yokosuka Jacket-style)
Sort by:
|
The Sukajan could quite possibly be one of the first products of the US-Japan alliance. Originally sukajan were parachute-silk jackets invented in the post-World War II occupation era, when Japanese craftsmen applied Japanese designs to Western-style apparel using materials imported by American soldiers at Yokosuka Air Force Base (hence the name "Sukajan"--Jan being short for jumper, or jacket). |
